[Information for Guests]

Doors will open 20 minutes prior to the performance:

Pearl, doors open at 11:40am

Jade, doors open at 4:40pm 

 

During the performance week, some of the “regularly” scheduled after school classes will be still in session. Dancers are encouraged to attend those classes, otherwise please join warm up classes held prior to rehearsals at the theater or TBDC.

My Child’s Performance Week Logistics

Information regarding all details for your child written below.

Here you can view Violet Winter'24 Performance Dress Code to know exactly what each student needs to wear and bring.

 

On Thursday December 5th and Sunday December 8th your child must arrive at the theater wearing the following:

 

• Nude leotard with spaghetti straps (This should be your child’s flesh tone).

• Tights, leggings, or pants as designated by the performance dress code chart.

*Please wear tights OVER the flesh-tone leotard. Students should not take off their nude leotards at any point.

• Dancer Warm-ups

     Thin sweater or cardigan (*preferably not one that goes over head and ruins hair)

     Thin sweatpants or leg warmers

 

PLEASE LABEL YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON EVERYTHING! TBDC is not responsible for any lost items.

 

＊What NOT to wear

-Please no underwear underneath flesh tone leotard. If you must, please only wear flesh tone underwear. 

- No Apple watch/ Smartwatch

- No Jewelry. (Only silver or gold stud earrings may be worn)

- No Colorful Nail Polish

- No Hair ties or bracelets on wrists

- No Bun holders or colorful hair clips 

 

❁ Hair & Make-up

Your child should arrive with their hair neatly styled as described in

Violet Winter'24 Performance Dress Code

 

There are never enough hair pins! 

 

Students are encouraged to wear makeup, as we will have proper stage lighting and a videographer in the theater. Makeup will help define students' facial features on stage. Blush, lipstick, eyeliner, mascara, and eyebrows. However,  students in level 2 or below should not bring any makeup items with them. Their makeup should be done prior to arriving into the theater. 

 

Students in level 3 and up may bring their own makeup items. 

 

Personal Hygiene: Though this may sound pretty obvious, please remember to shower, brush your teeth, and wear deodorant. Washing your hands regularly is a good idea as well when we dance with one another. Dancers should be mindful of bikini line and underarm hair. 

 

❁ What else to bring

- Proper dance shoes for each role (see Violet Winter'24 Performance Dress Code)

- Water, small non-messy snacks that will not cause stains. (crackers, banana)

- Dance Booties, or Socks (*students with pointe shoes or white/pink shoes should wear socks over the shoes so that they don’t get dirty off stage)

PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING!

 

＊What NOT to bring

- Ipad

- Headphones

- Messy Snacks (fruit punch, pasta with marinara sauce)

- Valuables (leave them at home please)

- Large book bags, multiple bags and jackets. Please pack light. 

TBDC is not responsible for any lost items.

 

❁ IMPORTANT: Performer Etiquette

- Please remind your child that there is absolutely no talking during the dress rehearsal or performance. If we don’t all follow this rule, your child’s performance could be interrupted by loud voices distracting you from watching them perform. Students who don’t follow this rule will be asked to leave. 

- In general, every student should have excellent behavior on rehearsal and performance day. Please no running, yelling, and please follow staff instructions in the theater including the dressing rooms.

- Absolutely no eating in costumes. Only water is allowed in costumes. 

- Please do not smear make-up on costumes.

-Students should neatly fold their costumes after use and place them in their designated hampers after every performance. Please remind your child to be clean, neat, respectful and courteous to the dressing room staff.  

- Students should be respectful to one another and all staff and crew members.

 

 ❁ Guest Etiquette

Please do not take any photography or videography during the performance. This is an actual theater. Ushers will ask guests who violate this rule to leave. A professional videographer will record the entire performance, and everybody will receive a digital download of the recording. Please silence all digital devices. Students, parents, and guests, please keep the theater space clean, and do not leave any trash in the audience, theater, or dressing rooms.

 

Please note there will be a photographer and videographer present during performance week. They will be filming both the performers and guests inside and outside of the theater hall, studio and stage rehearsals and performances. ​​

Thursday Dec 5th, 2024 - On-Stage Dress Rehearsal

Pearl & Jade Cast: All performers are called to attend this rehearsal.

Location -  Everyone arrive at Baruch

Level 1 & 2: 3:45pm

Level 3 and Up: 3:15pm

 

Dismissal Time

Level 1 & 2: 6:50pm

Level 3 and Up: 7:00pm

Information for Group A 

For performance day, please bring your child into Baruch from the 25th st entrance between Lexington and 3rd ave. There will be TBDC staff (wearing TBDC black T-shirts) ready to greet them right at the entrance and walk them to the theater. Please pick up your child at the same location at their dismissal time on dress rehearsal day. You may meet your child directly in the theater hall on performance day only. 

 

Information for Group B

For performance day, please bring your child to TBDC. There will be TBDC staff (wearing TBDC black T-shirts) ready to greet them at the front desk, and they will have a warm-up class first, and TBDC staff will walk the group to the theater. After the performance, you will meet your child directly in the theater hall. This is only on performance day, not for dress rehearsal.

 

Mandatory onstage rehearsal is closed to all parents and guests. You will not be able to wait inside the theater or dressing rooms with your child or anywhere at Baruch. However, TBDC will be open for your use (directly across the street). All parents, nannies and siblings may wait inside our facility (inside TBDC studios, not the 50 Lexington lobby) during rehearsal time. Please be sure to remove your street shoes before entering our dance studios. 

 

Please have your child arrive exactly on time. 

Do not arrive early or late. After dropping them off, please leave and meet them back at the 25th st entrance at their listed dismissal time.

TBDC Pick up and Drop off service during performance week

We will only be able to offer pick up service at the Epiphany School during performance week. Students who attend other schools will need to find a way to and from the theater that week (drop off service is not included for this week as well).
